Recipe: Taffy Apples

Misc.

Hi Patrick,

Here's a recipe to try. The butter and cream should make for a tasty coating.

Happy Holidays,

Betsy

Taffy Apples

2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
Pinch of cream of tartar
1/2 cup butter
1 tsp. vinegar
1/2 cup cream
6-8 apples

Place the sugar and water in a saucepan and heat until dissolved.
Add cream of tartar, butter, vinegar and cream.
Cook, stirring constantly to soft-crack stage.
Remove from the heat.
Dip each apple, held by a skewer, into the boiled syrup and carefully place on a buttered plate to harden.
