ISO: Cobbler recipe with bread

I had a recipe and lost the cookbook that called for making a fruit cobbler by layering fruit then white bread cut in strips and pouring a mixture of I think eggs and milk and sugar not sure though been a long time but DH just remembered it and wants me to make it again for him.
