ISO: New York Italian Ice Recipe Wanted

I would love to find a recipe for Authentic Italian Ice. I grew up in Queens, New York and on the type of water based italian ice that was scraped up from a 5 gallon can and sucked out of a white paper cup. I used to get this from a pizza shop but can't remember the name of the company that made the ice. During the 80's I was pregnant with my first child and had terrible morning sickness. I took the A train on Lefferts Blvd to and from my job in the city daily and the only thing that would settle my stomach was this delicious italian ice. Rainbow. I would get one at 7:30 in the morning and when I got off the train in the evening. If anyone out there can tell me how I might get my hands on a replica of this ice recipe or have any idea what might have been in it (any flavor) OR knows the name of a company that might have manufactured it, PLEASE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
