ISO: old fashion crock dill pickles

Misc.
Mother has been looking for a recipe she had many many years ago. It is a dill pickles recipe. The cucumbers are placed in a crock for around 24 hours with water, vinegar and salt(she thinks)and on top of the brine is a cheescloth with spices inside. She can't remember how much of any of the ingredients and can't remember what spices are placed in the cheescloth. My mom would really love to have this recipe back again. Can anyone help or come close to a recipe similar to what she is wanting? Thanks
