ISO: Russian Dill Pickles

Misc.

Looking for a recipe for Russian dill pickles. They are few and far between.
I found one in an old church cookbook ('30s or '40s) that I used last year.
Served pickles yesterday and guests wolfed down a couple of jars of them, but
they're still not the same as what a relative used to make. I would like to
experiment with a couple of different recipes later this summer. The one I
have has (besides salt, vinegar and water) dill, onions, sugar, allspice,
cloves, mustard seed, bay leaves and horseradish. (No, they're not for the
faint of heart.) I didn't use the horseradish so maybe that's the difference.
I couldn't find any horseradish at farmer's markets last summer and was told by
large grocery stores last August and September that it wasn't in season, and I
didn't think at the time to use the jar kind.

Anyway, recipes appreciated, especially any family favorites. Thank you.
