ISO: Wings-N-Things Seasonings (Winky's and Franks Sauce... Not Even Close.)

I grew up in Anchorage and LOVED Wings-N-Things. They were located downtown between 5th and 6th on Ist I think.
In the late 80's I lived in a yellow house that was about 1/2 a block down the alley from the place.
The wings were the best I've ever had. No Frank's, no butter, they were a dry wing. I went there hundreds of times over the years and always watched what they were doing.

The wings were coated with flour (maybe egg whites before that), at least they looked like they were coated with flour when they went into the fryer basket.
After deep frying, they basket was shaken to get rid of excess oil, and then the wings were dumped into a white 5 gallon bucket with the "secret spice mix" everyone is after.
Different buckets for Mild, Medium, Hot, Extra Hot, & Nuclear.

After a few seconds of being tossed around in the bucket, so the still damp and oily wings could soak up the seasonings, they were put in a basket and served with blue cheese and celery sticks.

A delicious, perfectly seasoned crispy dry rub wing every time.

I have gone back to the new Wing-N-Things and they are making wet, saucy wings that do not do the name justice.

The seasonings that were mentioned previously sound about right, (Salt, Cayenne, Garlic Powder, Nutmeg, Celery Salt, Coriander, and Ground Clove). I'll give that mixture a try and see if it takes me down memory lane.

If anyone knows the REAL mix of seasonings that were in those buckets... I'd LOVE to know what they were.
