does anyone out there have the recipe for Mazzio's ranch dressing or one that is comparable?
Halyna - NY
From various boards:

"I had to make big vats of ranch dressing when I worked at mazzio's pizza I had to use a big jar of Mayonnaise, buttermilk, and a big packet that had the ranch spices and herbs in it, and mix it."

"Mazzios in town makes some of the best homemade ranch dressing and they use sourcream, mayo, and a little bit of buttermilk and their own seasonings."

I could not find any mention of what this spice packet contained or who manufactured it. You could probably call the restaurant and find out.

This recipe is equal parts buttermilk and mayo and the "seasoning packet" is hidden valley ranch dips/dressing.

The receipe for the Mazzio's ranch is part buttermilk and part mayo but it is not the hidden vally powder mix, it is another mix from another co. It is chuckwagon ranch mix! I used to work there and made it myself!

We were also told by a Mazzio's ex-employee that the ranch is made with mayo, buttermilk & Chuckwagon Mix. My question is - exactly what is Chuckwagon Mix & where do I get it or how do I make it? Also, what proportions to I use the mayo & buttermilk?

We just tried making some up tonight from a recipe on cooks.com but it isn't even close & is way too runny with equal parts mayo & buttermilk.

Help! LOL

So, is this chuckwagon Ranch mix in a small packet like Hidden Valley mix? Because I looked online, and found site with the Chuckwagon Brand for mixes..but no ranch???

It definitely has mayo in it.

If I remember correctly, it is 1 gallon of mayo, 2 quarts of buttermilk, and 2 packets of the chuckwagon mix. Not sure what is in the chuckwagon mix or where to get it. Ours just came in on the truck...

MAZZIO'S RANCH DRESSING

As a manager of Mazzios here in Oklahoma (that has now closed and sold)

It was 3.25 oz of Griffth Foods chuckwagon buttermilk ranch seasoning along with 64 oz of Mayo and 64 oz of buttermilk.

We ALWAYS made it x4 so 4 bags of seasoning to 2 gallon mayo and 2 gallon buttermilk.

As far as I know you can not buy chuckwagon buttermilk ranch dry mix anywhere!? I can't even find how to order from Griffith Foods out of Alpin, IL. Which sucks, it's the best Ranch ever!!

The REAL recipe for Mazzio's Ranch Dressing is this. And yes, I did work there, and yes, I made this every single day.

This is the BULK recipe, so you will have to scale.

2 Gallons of "HEAVY" Mayonoise <--HEAVY is the key here. You can use regular, but this is the legit recipe.

8 Quarts of heavy cream

2 (16oz each) bags of "Garden Herb Spice", no point in telling you the brand name because you can't buy it, it's proprietary to Mazzio's. Its bascially a repackage of a name brand that they don't disclose. The label simply states Garden Herb Blend. The BEST you're going to do is 32oz of Hidden Valley Ranch mix, which I have tried, and honestly, I can barely tell the difference unless I'm drinking it.

Keep in mind, those little serving cups they give you ranch in are 120c each. So watch the pout.
