I just found this recipe for ridding dogs of skunk spray. If it can do that (and according to the author, it CAN), then I would imagine it would get the kitty smell out of your carpet. This recipe makes a quart of product (I guess that's the amount you need to freshen up one skunk-ed dog).

Skunked Dog Deodorizer
---------------------------

1 quart 3% hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda
a dash of liquid dishwashER detergent

I guess it uses dishwasher deterg (rather than dishwashing deterg) because it does not foam up.

Hope this works. If not, you have the recipe for when someone's dog gets sprayed LOL.
