How-To Copy, Paste, Save & Store Recipes & Other Text

Misc.
Hello Linda,

You have several options for printing and saving recipes. When reading a message posted to the message boards, click the Printer Friendly Page button at the top of the message and the recipe will appear in a new window - from there choose the print icon in your browser or choose the print command under the File menu in your browser. Close that window when you're done printing and your first window should still be on the screen. Or, you can choose the E-mail this message option and send the message to yourself.

If you don't want to deal with all the printouts you can also highlight, copy and paste text into any text editor or word processor to save, edit or print from there. Or, you can use the save as command under your file menu and save as text to your hard drive. Then you can open the file with a word processor or text editor. If you make folders on your hard drive for each recipe category (appetizers, breads, soups, etc.) you can save your files into the appropriate category where they'll be easy to find when you need them. If you haven't worked with these options before it would be very worth your while to find someone that can sit with you a few minutes and teach you copy and paste techniques and how to save files (maybe even a local librarian can help).

Here are step-by-step instructions you may find uesful:

I hope that's a help!
