Thank You: Hungarian Keeflies

Misc.
My family also lived in South Bend and they were hungarian on my father s side. The women of the family would always get together and make keeflies for the holidays. It was a group effort. It has been years since I had one because that side of the family is mostly gone now. I always wanted to try to make them but I heard that it was too hard. The tribune recipe and the smaller batch version simplied things a lot. For the dough I used a food processor for the flour butter mixture and hand mixed the rest of the ingredients in. I rolled up everything into balls and separated them in a bowl with parchment and put them in the fridge. I got 60balls. I made the filling and put them into two bowls and put them in the fridge. Whe ready I rolled, my wife folded. We baked them for 16 minutes. I tried the first one and told my wife that s it that s it. Thank you both so much. Now I can pass the recipe to my daughter and daughter in law.
