I have a

Misc.

Rival - I think its a 5-quart. Has high and low temp settings. The inside ceramic type pot lifts out for filling, cleaning etc.

I've heard that there are some that can automatically go from high to low or vice versa. I often like to start what I'm cooking on high for 30 minutes - and then put on low. This would be nice to my mind.

I think the one mentioned above would be great if one needed those extra features .... I have a griddle and all that stuff. But i have heard good things about them.

Be sure to get the size that you feel will be best for the way you cook. Even if you are just 2 -- you might want a larger one than, say, 3 or 3-1/2 qt -- if you plan to use it when family or guests come. I think most of them say they should be about 1/2 full to work best?
