Hi Jack,

I have looked for your description of the cake you mentioned in two books:
The Neighborhood Bakeshop by Jill Van Cleave and The Brooklyn Cookbook by Lyn Stallworth and Rod Kennedy, Jr. Both, by the way, are excellent books to have if you are from New York!

I have looked through many of my cookbooks at home and no luck. But, I will keep on looking. So check back in a week, I will try to get you a recipe.
