Hi Patty, if you would just do a search on this board for Nesco's you will find a lot of info. Also, Nesco has a website. I have the 6 qt. and love it!!!! I have used it as a slow cooker. You are right, it is a lot more versatile than a slowcooker. I know that there are people that prefer one over the other so you should probably do a search of both and see what you come up with. In case you don't know how to do a search of the board just make sure that the subject line is showing instead of author and then in the search box, type in Nesco. You will find a lot of stuff.
