Re: Baked Brie with Sugared Bacon

Misc.

The color scheme and theme sound great! Here is my version of baked brie, it is an easy appetizer to make with only a few ingredients:

I start with a small (4" or so) wheel of BRIE, put it in a round decorative baking dish and cover it with either hot pepper JELLY, orange marmalade, beach plum..anything other than the basic grape. I then put on a layer of BROWN SUGAR and bake uncovered for 15 minutes or so at 375 degrees. Just until brie is softened and brown sugar has crusted a bit. I serve it with thinly sliced FRENCH BREAD. It is always the first appetizer to go and it couldn't be any easier to make.

I made it this weekend for a party and decided to get a little fancy and put
SUGARED BACON on top (cooked separate, I added them on top right when I took the brie out of the oven). I read about the sugared bacon in a prior post and just had to try it, my goodness, how decadent a treat! It tasted fabulous alone and even better on the brie!
