Recipes (tried) camping food
Misc.ADVERTISEMENT
The last thing I want to do when camping is cook and clean up so I try to prepare as many things at home as I can. I make most of the ingredients for American Chop Suey.... Boil the macaroni (elbows or twists etc.), brown the hamburg with onions and green peppers and some spices. I put each of these ingredients in ziploc bags. I freeze the meat and that helps keep food cold in the cooler. Then I bring along a can of Hunt's spaghetti sauce. At dinner time I heat the meat in a large pot, add the sauce and then pasta and heat slowly. Serve with salad and Italian bread.
Also for a new spin on S'Mores try Keebler Fudge Stiped cookies instead of graham crackers and chocolate. We also use coconut marshmellows instead of plain ones. Try It!!!!
