I am so happy that you happened to see the post.
DH and I both did graduate work at UT, Austin. I bought the cookbook (Lone Star Legacy) at that time - too many years ago to count. We did love our time in Texas and, now have to make a lot of the things we ate and enjoyed while we were there. There just aren't any really good barbeque joints here, though, we do have one, but it just isn't the same. The same thing goes for Mexican restaurants. There are some but they're just not the same :-( We smoke brisket, even in the winter, here, and, I have to say, I was quite happy, myself, when I discovered and made the Chile Rellenos :-)!! I hope you enjoy them, Alice!! I love this site, too :-)!!
