Recipe: Low-fat chocolate chip cookies

Desserts - Cookies, Brownies, Bars

I have not made these; they are from the cookbook "Fat-Free Baking" by Sandra Woodruff. Maybe you could let us know how they turn out and how your friend liked them?

Colossal Chocolate Chippers

3/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup unbleached flour
2/3 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup prune puree
2 tablsepoons honey
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/3 cup chocolate chips
1/3 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Combine the flours, sugar and baking soda; stir well to mix. Add the prune puree, honey and vanilla and stir to mix well. If the dough seems crumbly, keep stirring until it holds together. Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts if desired.

Coat a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray. Drop dough by slightly rounded teaspoonful 1-1/2 inches apart. Slightly flatten each cookie with the tip of a spoon. Bake at 350 for about 9 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on pan for one minute, then transfer to wire rack. Serve immediately or transfer to an airtight container and arrange in single layers separated by waxed paper.
