Recipe: Yellow Cake (includes egg yolks)

Yellow Cake

2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. butter, softened
1 c. milk
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and
flour 13x9x2-inch pan or two 8- to 9-inch
pans. Beat all ingredients on low speed,
scraping sides, 30 seconds. Beat on high 3
minutes. Pour into pans. Bake the 13x9-inch pan
40-45 minutes, 8 or 9-inch pans 30-35 minutes
or until toothpick inserted in center comes
out clean. Cool 10 minutes, remove from pans
if desired; cool completely.
