Recipe(tried): Gooseberry Jam for Daphne C., we have a

Misc.
Gooseberry bush in our backyard and I always make jam and pies. This recipe is from Sure-Jell. Good Luck!

Gooseberry Jam
Makes about 10 (1 cup) jars.

5 1/2 cups prepared friut (2 1/2 quarts fruit)
7 cups sugar
1 box sure-jell

Remove blossom and stem ends from fruit: grind berries. Measure fruit into 8qt. saucepan. Measure sugar and set aside.

Mix sure-jell into fruit in saucepan. Place over high heat and stir until mixture comes to a full boil. Immediately add sugar and stir. Bring to a full rolling boil and boil hard for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and skim off foam with metal spoon.

Ladle quickly into prepared jars, filling to within 1/8 inch of tops. Wipe jar rims and threads. COver with two piece lids. Screw bands on tightly, invert jars.
