Recipe: Traditional Hot Apple Cider (using cinnamon, allspice and cloves)

TRADITIONAL HOT APPLE CIDER

"A staple for cool fall nights."

2 broken Durkee Cinnamon Stick
1 1/2 teaspoons Durkee Whole Allspice
1/2 teaspoon Durkee Whole Cloves
2 quarts apple cider or juice
1/4 cup sugar

Place cinnamon, allspice and cloves in a small piece of cheesecloth.

Heat cider and sugar in a large saucepan with spices over medium-high heat to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes, covered. (Can be simmered and kept warm in a slow cooker.)

Remove and discard spice bag before serving.

Makes 8 servings
