APPLE CHEESE CHICKEN
(similar to Cracker Barrel)
I just did this one (well my take on it)
Make a cheese sauce traditional way, with a white sauce and sharp cheddar.
Season chicken breasts with salt pepper and a touch of sage, layer sliced apples on top, then top with cheese sauce.
Bake this in a 350 degree F oven about 25 minutes or until chicken is done.
Top with crushed Ritz crackers mixed with melted butter.
Broil to crisp it up.
It was good, the ones I altered were better (some I added caramelized onions and bacon to top of apples first)
