Main Dishes - Pasta, Sauces
CHESAPEAKE BAY PENNE WITH CHICKEN AND SHRIMP

"Well-seasoned, sauteed chicken and shrimp are tossed with a light Old Bay cream sauce, green onions and al dente penne pasta - a dish that works well as a summer first course or entree portion."

FOR THE SEASONED FLOUR:
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning
1/2 teaspoon McCormick Ground White Pepper
1 teaspoon McCormick Onion Powder

FOR THE CHICKEN AND SHRIMP PASTA:
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1/2-inch strips
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
3/4 cup heavy (whipping) cream
1/2 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
8 ounces penne pasta, cooked and drained
3 green onions, sliced

In a small bowl, combine seasoned flour ingredients. Coat chicken strips with seasoned flour mixture.

In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add chicken and saute 3-5 minutes. Add shrimp and saute 2-3 minutes or until pink.

Stir in heavy cream and 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay. Cook over low heat until sauce thickens.

Stir in cooked pasta and green onions. Cook until heated through.

Makes 5 servings
