Recipe(tried): Bolobau sweet dim sum Pineapple buns

Bolobau An sweet dim sum, pineapple buns.

1/2 cup warm water
2 packages dry active yeast
1 teaspoons granulated sugar

1-1/2 lukewarm milk
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable shortening, room temperature
7 cups all-purpose flour

1 pound can crushed pineapple
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1-2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
granulated sugar

Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar; set stand 3-5 minutes.

Combine milk, sugar, salt, eggs, and shortening.
Add 4 cups of the flour.

Add the yeast mixture.

Add the remaining 3 cups of flour and knead until combined.

Cover bowl with plastic wrap and let rise until doubled in size.

Drain the crushed pineapple, reserve the liquid.
Combine the pineapple with the brown sugar and cinnamon.

Roll dough out on a floured board or between two pieces of floured wax paper.

Spread the pineapple mixture over the top.

Roll like a jelly roll, then cut into slice and place on a greased cookie sheet.

Let rise until doubled again.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Bake buns for 30 minutes or until done.

Heat reserved pineapple juice with equal amounts of granulated sugar.

Brush over warm, but not hot, buns.
