BROILED STEAK TERIYAKI
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup oil
2 tablespoons vinegar
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1 clove garlic, cut in quarters
1 teaspoon ground ginger
2 pounds beef chuck steak, boneless, 1/2 to 3/4 Inch thick
Mix together all ingredients except steak. Pour over steak and refrigerate overnight.
Remove steak and garlic pieces from marinade. Discard garlic. Place steak on broiler pan.
(Place marinade in a small saucepan and boil for a couple of minutes.)
Broil steak about 2 inches from the heat, 8 minutes; turn and broil 6 minutes for rare meat. For well-done steak, broil twice as long. Baste as needed with marinade. To test doneness, pierce meat with a pointed knife and check the color.
Makes 6 servings, about 3 ounces each
