Recipe(tried): Butler Hot Dog Shop Hot Dog Sauce

My ex-husband grew up in Butler, PA not far from this HotDog Shop and has always had the recipe. We have made it a few times and it is wonderful. (Makes a large batch - can freeze)

BUTLER PA - THE HOTDOG SHOP GRAVY

2 lbs. ground chuck
3 chopped onions
1 1/2 oz chili powder
1 1/2 oz paprika
2 tbsp salt
1 tbsp ground cloves
1 tsp ground black pepper
6 cups water
1 cup flour
1 (14 oz) bottle ketchup (we used Heinz)
1 tbsp sugar

Brown ground chuck and onions with spices.

Make paste with flour and water; mix ketchup and sugar in. Add to meat mixture and cook until thick.
