Recipe(tried): Kim's Sweet Sauce (Pink Sauce) Variation

Toppings - Sauces and Gravies
The recipe for Kim's Sweet Sauce; titled "Pink Sauce" here, is basically a mayonnaise, and should be made the way you would make homemade mayonnaise. I have eaten at Kim's Restaurant many times, and was given a recipe, before 1985, of Kim's Sweet Sauce. The vinegar in the ingredients kills any bacteria that the raw egg might have, so using a raw egg is safe.

In a blender combine:

1/2 cup cider vinegar
1 raw egg or 1/4 cup egg substitute
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup white sugar or to taste
1 1/2 tsp to 2 tbsp dry hot mustard to taste

Blend for 1 minute

Remove cap from blender lid and very slowly add a stream of:

2 cups oil

until it begins to thicken like thin mayonnaise; once it is thickened, add about

1/4 cup ketchup or to taste

until it reaches the desired shade of pink that you would like. Needless to say, use quality brand ingredients for a high quality result.
