Recipe(tried): butterkuchen or boterkoek in dutch

Misc.

this is my family's favourite!!!!
1 1/4 c flour
1 c butter
1/2 c sugar(granulated fine)
1/4 ts salt.
1/2 egg (to spread on top)
preheat oven and baking sheet to 425 degrees
butter a cakepan, round or square

put the flour, butter, salt and sugar in a mixing bowl.
with pastry cutter or 2 knives, cut the butter into the flour until it resembles small peas.
with a cool hand mix the dough until it forms a ball.
put dough in the cakepan and flattened it until it is even leaving about 1/4 inch from the sides open.(not touching the dough or the pan))
brush the top with the egg.
put on baking sheet in hot oven and bake for 15 minutes until slightly brown, it should still be soft.
cool on rack in pan until almost cold. turn on to rack to cool further.

hope this is what you are looking for. i normally triple the recipe for my family and they will eat it in two days.
