Recipe: Pumpkin Pie Latte (inspired by Starbucks)
BeveragesPUMPKIN PIE LATTE
by Jeannie
Okay so I was inspired. Inspired by Starbucks Spiced Pumpkin Latte. I love them, but hey, they are pricey, and who of us can daily afford such thing? Sheesh, not me that's for sure. So I got creative and came up with this recipe. Enjoy the reason for all seasons.
3 heaping Tbsp. canned pumpkin puree
1 cup milk
2 Tbsp. Vanilla syrup
1 Tbsp. Pumpkin Spice Syrup (optional)
(You can also order Pumpkin Spice syrup from Monin, maybe even your local Starbucks will sell you some. They now sell the Valencia, M'mmmm!)
1/4 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 to 2 shots espresso
whipped cream (to serve)
Vanilla flavored coffee cream* (optional)
In a small saucepan, stir pumpkin puree into milk. Add vanilla syrup, pumpkin syrup (if using), and pumpkin pie spice. Heat gently, continuing to stirring occasionally just until steaming and foam begins to appear.
Pour pumpkin flavored milk into a tall mug and pour espresso over.
Top with whipped cream and a dash of pumpkin pie spice.
*If you like it slightly sweeter; and I know I do, I add a wee bit of vanilla flavored coffee cream. If you like it less sweet, adjust to taste. No matter what though, ENJOY!
