Recipe: Coney Island Hot Dog Sauce (2)

CONEY ISLAND FIXIN'S

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 Lb 85% Lean Ground Beef.
1/2 Cup Onion (chopped)
1/4 Cup Green Bell Pepper (chopped)
8oz Can Tomato Sauce.
1/2 Cup Water
1/2 Tsp Chili Powder.
1/2 Tsp Paprika.
1/4 Tsp Salt.
Dash Hot Sauce to taste.
6 Frankfurters.
6 Frankfurter Buns (warmed).


INSTRUCTIONS:

In a medium skillet, brown the meat over medium-high heat.

Drain and discard grease.

Stir in the onion and green pepper and saut until transparent.

Blen in the tomato sauce, water, chili powder, paprika, salt and hot sauce.

Simmer for 15 minutes.

In a saucepan, cover frankfurters with cold water.

Bring to boiling, simmer for 5 minutes, drain.

Place franks in the buns, top with the meat sauce mixture.

Add chopped onions or other condiments of your choice.
