Recipe(tried): Debbie's Easy BBQ Ribs (roaster oven)

Menus
Tonight for supper we are having: Easy BBQ Ribs, au gratin potatoes, white field peas, Jello with low-fat topping, and Microwave Corn on the Cob.

DEBBIE'S EASY BBQ RIBS

4 lbs. pork ribs, rinsed
2 large onions, chopped
2 tsp. minced garlic
black pepper
1 cup Sprite (lemon-lime soda)
1/4 cup Heinz 57 Sauce
3-4 tbsp. soy sauce
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1 bottle barbecue sauce
3-4 tbsp. lemonade concentrate

Spray the roaster, I used the AROMA ROASTER, with Pam. Put the pork ribs on the bottom of the roaster. Put the onions and minced garlic on top of the ribs. Sprinkle the ribs with black pepper. Mix the Sprite, Heinz 57 Sauce, soy sauce, and red wine vinegar together. Pour over the ribs. Let the ribs cook slowly -- 300 degrees for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. You might need to add bit more Sprite or some cold water to the ribs.

At the end of this cooking time, remove the ribs from the roaster. Pour the cooking liquid out of the roaster and discard. Put the ribs back into the roaster. Mix 1 bottle of barbecue sauce with 3-4 tablespoons of undiluted lemonade concentrate together. Pour over the ribs and bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour or until ribs are done.
