Recipe(tried): Dried Lemon, Orange and Apple Slices
Misc. Thinly slice oranges or lemons and bake at 250 for 5 to 6 hours--keeping a watchful eye.
I save the fallings from my xmas tree Every year-- in a 5 gal tub. Each year I add the lemon and orange slices, dried rosepetals from my garden (usually red). I also search for small pine cones to add. I add broken cinnamon sticks and a dash of nutmeg and potpourri scent.
What makes this recipe Especially wonderful is full size anise and small cloves.
Each year it is a bit different, and each year it is especially wonderful to share!
Enjoy!
Tammy
(p.s. one year I even threw in some lavender!)
Apples: to cure thinly sliced apples, dip into lemon juice or lemon soda, bake @ 250 for 4-5 hours--keeping a watchful eye. they never turn brown this way.
