Recipe: Shelf Life and How to Store Home Canned Foods

Misc.
Hi Alice,

If the pickles aren't processed in a boiling water bath they will keep a few weeks in the refrigerator. If the watermelon pickles are processed in a boiling water bath canner (that recipe should be processed 10 minutes for pints), they will keep 1 or 2 years on a shelf.

This information from the National Center for Home Food Preservation suggests using home canned foods within a year.

I hope that's a help,

Betsy
