SOUPER BARBECUE SAUCE
"Excellent on broiled steaks, chops, chicken, baked spareribs, meatloaf, or frankfurters."
1/3 cup chopped onion
1/3 cup chopped celery
1 small clove garlic, minced
2 tablespoons shortening
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can condensed cream of tomato soup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice (or vinegar)
2 teaspoons prepared mustard
4 drops Tabasco sauce (optional)
In saucepan, cook onion, celery, and garlic in melted shortening until soft.
Mix in remaining ingredients; simmer 10 minutes.
Makes about 2 cups sauce
