Recipe: Tempura Batter

Misc.
Hi Donna, This is a basic 'Tempura' batter recipe that can be used for anything.
1 cup unsifted flour ( all-purpose )
1 egg
1 cup cold water

Mix flour, egg and water together, beating it lightly without trying to make mixture smooth. Never let the batter stand very long and don't worry about some lumps in it. Makes enough for 4 servings. {this is a authenic recipe from Japanese collection, like fried vegies. and shrimp in Japanese restaurants.) Hope this helps. I also have another recipe that uses egg whites folded in the batter. I have to locate it and will post it soon.
