Recipe: Tuna-Apple Salad with Variations (1970)

Salads - Main Dish
TUNA-APPLE SALAD

2 cans tuna (6 1/2 or 7 ounces each)
2 cups diced apple
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 mayonnaise or salad dressing
1/4 cup raisins
1 tablespoon lemon juice
lettuce (optional)

Drain tuna. Break tuna into large pieces. Combine with remaining ingredients except lettuce. Chill thoroughly.

Serve on lettuce.

VARIATIONS:

CHICKEN OR TURKEY-APPLE SALAD:
Use 2 cups chopped cooked chicken or turkey in place of tuna.

PORK, HAM, OR VEAL-APPLE SALAD:
Use 2 cups chopped cooked meat in place of tuna.

Makes 6 servings, about 2/3 cup each
