Recipe: White Christmas Cookies (with white chocolate chips and coconut) (Great American Recipes)
Desserts - Cookies, Brownies, BarsDear Lisa,
I have this recipe. I do not know for sure whether it is from Great American Recipes, but it does list the same ingredients and even mentions a "blizzard"...hope it's the one you are hoping to find.
WHITE CHRISTMAS COOKIES
1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 cup plus 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup flaked coconut
6 oz. white chocolate, cut into chunks or white chocolate chips
Powdered sugar
1. Beat butter and sugar together until creamy. Beat in vanilla and egg.
2. Combine the flour and baking soda. Beat into the butter mixture.
3. Stir in the coconut and white chocolate. Form a dough.
4. Drop by teaspoons onto a buttered cookie sheet.
5. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes. Cool a minute before removing a rack to complete cooling.
6. Sift powdered sugar over cookies until covered with a "Blizzard of Snow".
TIPS: Serve these cookies for Christmas. Place on a silver plate and decorate with a sprig of holly.
Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
