ISO: Apple Pie (apple pie filling and cake mix)

Misc.
Last year, I made a apple pie where I put canned apple pie filling in a 13 inch pan and covered the apples with a dry cake mix. Dabbed alot of butter on the top and baked at 350 degrees until brown. What I can't remember is, if I used a yellow or white cake mix. Has any one tried this recipe? It is really good.
