ISO: Blackberry Cobbler

Misc.
Help!! My Mother used to make the best blackberry cobblers! They were somewhat unusual as she rolled the dough and then placed it on top of the blackberries and then placed more blackberries on top of dough and then more dough-then blackberies- you get the picture? I don't remember if she cooked the blackberries before hand. the dough was almost a piecrust when she finished rolling it out. I wished I had paid more attention. My Mother was a southern cook(the best!)and was from the western part of Virginia so maybe some of you all out in that area could help me. Thanks!
