ISO: Brenda in Arkansas - Peach or Berry Cobbler time and temp question
Misc. Total baking time for this recipe seems to be too short for the temp. & time factor for this dish. It appears that considering the condition of the dish that the time should have one hour added. Please check your recipe baking time again!

Ron - hopefully Brenda will respond. In the meantime, here's an alternate recipe. - Betsy

Here's my grandmother's cobbler recipe. I don't think it's particularly unusual--I've seen close variations of it recently. However, her recipe is extremely sweet; I cut the amount of sugar to about 3/4-cup.
1 stick (1/2 cup) oleo (margarine)
2 cups sugar, divided
1 cup flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
Vanilla to taste
3/4 cup sweet milk (plain ol' ordinary milk)
3 cups fruit
Cut oleo in pieces and place in baking dish. Sift dry ingredients; stir in milk and vanilla. Pour batter over pieces of oleo. Add fruit on top of batter. Pour remaining 1-cup sugar on top of fruit. Bake at 350-F for 45 minutes, or until crust rises to the top and is very brown.
GLAZE
Mix together 1/2-cup sweet milk and 1/2-cup sugar. (Again, this is extremely sweet, I use about 1/4-cup of sugar.) Pour glaze over baked cobbler. Place cobbler in oven and let it come to a boil.
