I was wondering if you has success with the suggested recipe (Buccellato and Buccellato Di Lucca) because I've been looking for the same recipe to surprise my mother - she even saved a label from the bread. The ingredients are: flour, powder skim milk, sugar, malt, salt, yeast, anise seed and shortening. I found a recipe that looks like it has similar ingredients (just found it today) at Buccellato from Lucca
