ISO: is it necessary to freeze rum cake 5 days before Thanksgiving

I have just baked a Bacardi rum cake for Thanksgiving, and wonder if it is necessary to freeze it for 5 days til the dinner. It has 1/2 cup of rum in the batter, and 1/2 cup of rum in the glaze.I have read that this cake improves with age, but, I would really like a definitive answer, not wanting to take a chance with an uneducated guess. Thank you so much for your input.
