ISO: Old Fashion Chocolet cake frosting

Years ago my mother made a chocolet cake frosting that was not soft and creamy like usual chocolet cake frosting.It was stiff and would crack or flake from the cake. It wasnt real hard.I think she used Hersheys cocoa mix to make this frosting Can anyone send me a receipe frosting? Please send to mikru103@aol.com Thank You
