I'm looking for a recipe from my elementary school days. It was a dessert/cookie made with chocolate, oats and peanut butter. The dessert was similar to the unbaked cookies made with the same ingredients. The difference is this recipe was served cut into bars about 1 inch thick. The recipe was popular in the late 60's and early 70's. I remember having the recipe and making them as a child. Would love to have the recipe for Christmas! Thank you!

Hi! I think this is what your looking for. My grandmother used to make them, and I have continued the tradition...

2 cups sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 stick margerine
3 tbs cocoa - boiled together for 2 minutes after a rolling boil is reached.remove from heat, add 2/3 cup peanut butter
1 cup nuts
1 tsp vanilla
pour over 3 cups quick oatmeal (not instant) stir and pour into 9/13 pan and pat down into pan to even it out. Let cool, and cut into squares or bars. Can also be dropped for cookies.

Hope this is it! If not, try them, we love them!
