dryer fabric softener

Misc.

Maryann's hint using liquid fabric softener on an old washcloth and tossed in the dryer is a good one; but just wanted to add a couple of cautions ... make sure that the softener is diluted, and that the washcloth is wrung out (not dripping wet) and that you start your dryer right away after tossing it in. Otherwise, you may end up with a greasy spot on your nice clean clothes from the softener. Also, I have heard that using the liquid softener in the dryer can be a fire hazard ... I have used this hint for years and have never had any sort of problem with it.
