messages? I know back when this board started (late May?), I posted some www. sites that have contests - I think the Pilgrims pride is still ongoing and I know Lipton Secrets is ... as I was just on their site the other day. Some of the others I listed .... will be back again ... as they're yearly, etc. So I usually bookmark the and check back in every couple of weeks. Sometimes that is nice - as you can get winners lists and, occasionally winning recipes.

Mama Mary's pizza shells has an ongoing contest ... but I don't have their web site handy -- you could do a search I am sure. They just had their cook-off in FL in November ... and now they'll pick quarterly winners througout the year ... and then a certain # of them will be invited to FL (expense paid) for the cook-off. I think the quarterly winners get espresso machines or something. Never paid that much attention to that one.

I noticed, after scrolling down this board - that Chex is still on as is Jimmy Dean. And the Betty Crocker Bake sale one. Doubt there is enough time for Heinz Ketchup as it is RECEIVED 12/31.

Way back in the first posting - after Betsy's 'welcome' - Shirley posted info on Cooking contest bulletins. And I think anyone wanting to enter/win in contests would be well advised to subscribe to one. It would be impossible (or very time consuming and sort of un-ethical) for any of us to print everything from our bulletins on a board like this. However, sharing info that is on-line or in the newspapers, magazines, etc. is a bit different. I think I counted over 150 contests for '98 in my UNCOMMONLY GOOD COOKS BULLETIN -- didn't enter that many .... maybe only 20 or thereabouts .... but did win something in about 8 of them. With a couple of the prizes being fun and nice and interesting! The others were 'lower' - more of the ok type!

Also, many of the contests repeat yearly or every other year .... and so if you can find their web site - it is good to go back and check . I think the cherry one (listed down here) said their new one would be on in May of '99. And so on.

However, many of the contests are in the colored ad inserts in the Sunday papers or in some of the magazines - like Family Circle, Woman's Day, etc. If you don't subsribe, you can always stop by the library and page thru the latest issue - and then make a xerox copy.

I wish you luck in your contesting ... and please let us on the board know when you win something - or if you find a new contest. I'm sure most of us do this. I've just been disappointed to see so few listing their wins! There must be some!
