Helm's Cream Puffs

Misc.
Oh how I remember the Helm's bakery man with his clean uniform, bow tie, hat and smile, and that incredible smell as he opened the back doors of his truck. I live in Texas now but I was born and raised in Southern California. My grandfather had his silkscreening business right across the street from the Helms Bakery Bldg. I wish that children today could experience the joy of that old bakery truck and the treasures it held inside. The cream puffs were without a doubt my favorite and Crispy Creme had nothing on the glazed doughnuts that were made by Helms bakery (they were still warm when the driver handed it to us). Thank you to all who have written on the site. I enjoyed reading your comments.
