Injectable Marinades?

Misc.

I attended a cooking class Sunday on "Roasting Vertical Chicken" (Vertical Chicken - a chicken that is roasted on a post-like rack which is inserted through the cavity of the bird, The vertical roaster is then placed in a shallow pan, and the chicken is roasted rather like it was standing up.) Two of the chickens were thoroughly rubbed with seasonings: however, two were injected with marinades rather like deep fryed turkeys are. The commerical marinades are rather expensive, $6.00 for a 16 oz. bottle. Hence the question. Does anyone have any experience making up marinades for use with an injector? I know there are several for cajun style with hot sauce listed in the archives But does anyone know one for rosemary & garlic or teriyaki & honey.

I can see that it would be very easy to clog the injector tube. Any suggestions?
