Recipe: Nutty Crust (using grape nuts cereal)

Desserts - Pies and Tarts
NUTTY CRUST

2 cups grape-nuts cereal
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 large egg - white
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
light vegetable oil cooking spray

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Put the cereal into the bowl of a food processor and process to fine crumbs, about 2 minutes.

Transfer to a bowl and mix in the cinnamon. Add the egg whites and orange juice. Mix thoroughly.

Spray an 8-inch pie plate once lightly with the vegetable oil spray and spread the oil evenly to coat. Turn the cereal mixture into the plate. Press down with moistened fingers to form a shell.

Bake for 10 minutes. Remove to a wire rack and cool for about 15 minutes.
