Jody - Rival Steamer Help

Misc.
I have an oval Rival Steamer and the instruction booklet for Model 4450 (1982 - didn't realize it was so old!). If you'd like a copy let me know and I will tell Betsy to provide you with my email address. Booklet is only about 24 pages and I could copy on 12 pages and mail to you. It gives diagrams of all pieces, guidelines for quantity of water to place in inner water reservoir and approx. steaming time for veggies, rice, seafood, etc. - also a few recipes. This is the ONLY way I steam my shrimp.

In meantime...
Inner Water Reservoir & Heating Well: Water is heated & turns to steam which circulates around food. Amount of water used determines cooking time. Put water ONLY in the inner well.
Steamer Basket: The basket with slots allows excess water to drain away. Use to steam veggies, fish, shellfish or other dishes without a sauce.
Rice Bowl: Deep container used to cook rice (8-cup capacity) or other dishes that have a sauce or use liquid.

You use either the Steamer Basket or the Rice Bowl - not both together.

Outer Water Reservoir: Liquid draining from cooked food will collect here.
Indicator Light: Glows when unit is operating. Goes out to indicate food is done. If unit has turned off and is still plugged in, the indicator light & steamer may begin to cycle on and off. Unplug after cooking.

Avoid placing unit on any surface or under any wall cabinet that can be marred by steam or water droplets. (Steamed shrimp can "smell up" your kitchen so I do them in the garage - LOL!)

I can understand if you chose not to email me your address so if you have specific things you want to steam let me know but I can't imagine not having the booklet.
