Leap Year ideas

Misc.
Hi SJ,
Sorry it took me so long to respond to you, I saw your post a couple of days ago, but I am right in the middle of planning my son's birthday party (who incidently was born on leap year as well as my dad). My son is turning four so I'm afraid you would not be interested in his party theme (Disney's Hercules), but a few things came to mind.
How about a progressive party? Where each course of a meal, or each item being served (i.e. cake, punch, ice cream, appetizers, etc..) is served at a different house, or a different restaurant location, as if you were "leaping" from place to place.
Or how about a frog theme? I'm not fond of these creatures my self, but this could be real interesting with a little imagination. (If you give me a day or so I might be able to suggest a menu and/or decoration ideas).
Or even chose a different animal that leaps like a kangaroo and serve Austrailian foods, or maybe select a rabbit for a theme.
My husband suggested a 'four' theme where items are served in fours, perhaps a cake in the shape of a number four, perhaps for decorations could you could pick the for of hearts (or spades, clubs or diamons or perhaps all of them) and even use hearts in conjunction with the four as a means of decorating ang for selecting a menu.
Just tossing out a few ideas, I don't know if any of them sound good to, but let me know if you need help rounding up recipes or need me to expound a little on my suggestions. Hope this was a help to you. Lu
